Global Music Network is an independent World Music Online platform. The project was founded in 2012 with the goal of creating a comprehensive World Music Online magazine. The universal idea of Global Music Network is underlined by the fact that the content should be made available in as many different languages as possible and thus be accessible to as many people as possible. The site is currently professionally maintained in German and English. Further languages (Japanese, Italian, French, Spanish, Dutch and Polish) are in the development phase and will soon be professionalized. Further languages will be added in the future. Global Music Network will be created entirely on a voluntary basis and will not include paid advertising.

Global Music Network is currently (as of the end of 2018) visited by up to 2000 readers per month, with a continuously increasing tendency.
